A Prayer for America

us-flag-and-bible-crossHeavenly Father, I thank you for this day as I thank you for all days, but today, I also thank you for bringing us – America – to this day. For bringing us from the precipice of destruction as we have descended as a nation into one of chaos and degeneracy. Today I claim your promise of 1 John 1:9, nationally. Forgive us of our national sin of rejecting your Blessings and omitting you from our national life; for pushing you out of our public places; for allowing a government to set policies counter to Your Plan; for failing you as a client nation; and yet, as you graced our founders and the continental army with Providence, again your providence and grace have carried our nation through to this glorious day. Father, cleanse our nation from all unrighteousness.

Today, we open and embrace a new chapter in American history. A chapter of hope. A chapter of cleansing. A chapter of healing. Father. Let us return to being your greatest national ambassador that will ever reign in time. Let us bring about a season of global peace through our collective strength. Let America resume as the greatest nation that ever existed, or that ever will exist until that glorious day when Christ returns to rule.

Donald J. Trump will take the oath of office and become our President, Mike Pence our Vice President. New cabinet members will be confirmed and soon, our new President will appoint a new Supreme Court Justice, that will help to set the course and shape the future of our nation. Father, place and keep your guiding hand on their hearts. Fill their hearts with resolve and righteousness. Ensure their safety and their wisdom as they take the reins of our nation and allow them to prosper in bringing their visions to fruition and in bringing America to a better standing.

Father, restore our relationship with Israel. Help us to bring about the destruction of her enemies and those who would do her harm. Help us to rebuild our military and advance our power, that no nation shall challenge our might or test our resolve.

There is much work to be done, Father, and we must have your guidance. Heal the wounds of our nation. Cause our citizenry to support our new leaders and embrace the return of love of country and respect for our national entity. America is Your creation. Let us not just return to our former glory, but surpass it to become once again and forever more, Christ’s greatest ambassador. Let us fulfill our destiny as the Client Nation to God. Let us grow in grace and bring glory to Christ, in whose name I pray – Amen.
