Hello and welcome to my blog. Here you’ll find a mixed bag of my thoughts covering a wide variety of topics such as public speaking, leadership, motivation, team building, coaching (both business and personal), politics and world events, history, books, marriage, spirituality, and who knows what else.
My personal mission is to inspire and empower others professionally, personally and spiritually to elevate their lives to a higher level.
Since this is the “About” page, I’ll give you a little personal background. I guess the first thing to know about me is that I am somewhat of a workaholic. Aside from 50 – 60 hours per week working as a District Manager for a major self storage company, I also do public speaking. This is really my passion in life and I am working toward becoming a full time public speaker one day. I also have a wedding ministry. I have scaled this back in recent years but still officiate about 12 – 15 weddings per year as well as holding pre-marital coaching classes.
I am a very avid reader and am a former Amazon Top 1,000 reviewer. Almost all of the books I read are business related or personal development related. I also do a lot of writing, have published numerous articles and am currently writing a book on personal development.
Servant Leadership is what drives me. My constant goal is to help other develop and reach tehir full potantial. As a District Manager, my goal is to make sure the right people with the right attitudes are recruited and developed and given the resources they need to be successful.
The key principles of my leadership are simple; the people under my guidance are not on my staff, I am on their staff. If I do everything possible to help them success, in turn I will succeed and the company will succeed. Recognition is any key aspect of my leadership. I try to always catch people doing something well and let them know how much they are appreciated for what they do.

Hello Mr. Rainy,
I read your post about “My Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West” and I see your point. Are you aware of any books that discusses inter fighting among Indians? thank you for time.

Leo,
Since all Native American cultures were void of a written language, unfortunately there is very little recorded history and much of what is available is based largely on speculation and lore. There are a few resources you may find interesting. One of my favorite books on American Indian history and culture, specifically of the Lakota and other Plains Tribes, is Plains Indian History and Culture by Jack Ewars.
Another resource I would HIGHLY recommend (if you can find it) is a long out of print set by Benjemin Bussey Thacher – Early American Indian History, Volume I & II.
In this genre, you may also run across something by the well known revisionist, Howard Zinn. I recommend avoiding these at all costs if you want an accurate portrayal of Indian in-fighting pre-caucasian. There are also a few books available about the early northern and eastern tribes, specifically the Iroquis and other Great Lakes area tribes but very little that succinctly provides insight into hwo so many of those tribes were erraticated prior to European arrival.
